This morning, I woke before the sun came up. I usually rise later in the day, but I finally got a chance to witness the beauty of seeing the sun rise. I was in my study and felt this beaming light pierce through the window. Recently, it has been gray and snowy for the last few weeks. So, as I felt this light take up the whole room, I stood up and looked through the blinds, and it was as if I was face to face with God. I began to straighten my posture to see if we still met eye to eye, and we did. This moment, I heard “alignment with the Son.”
Alignment reminds me of a straight path or a straight line. It’s as if we have two parallel lines, and if they overlapped, it would look like one. This is what alignment is to me, and I believe to Jesus as well.
This is the year to focus and practice being aligned with God. How will we do this, you ask? First, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Jesus sent Him for this exact reason, to always nudge us back into alignment with God.
Secondly, prayer and praise. Talk to God, even if you do not hear a response; it doesn’t mean He isn’t listening. Sing to our Lord with all your heart, sing your praises aloud, and rejoice in this time with the Father. Prayer and praise are vital and very important ways to build your relationship with Christ and to be aligned with Him.
Lastly, meet Him daily. Alignment is secured through consistency. To stay in a mirrored stance with God, you must make it your first priority to meet with Him, not only at the beginning of your day but throughout it, multiple times. In order for you to have consistency, you need discipline. Although it’s quite hard to build your discipline, God gives you the strength to carry it out. I’ve learned through experience that discipline can come and go, but to remain disciplined requires an intention you set in your mind, that this is what you’re doing no matter what.
Let’s stand on Matthew 6:33 for this year:
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Also, one more thing: there’s a part in the Bible where Jesus said that WE would do greater works than He. (John 14:12) Can you believe that? Well, it’s true, and the only way we carry out that prophecy is through alignment with Him.
I’m sending you all love and encouragement as we carry out our journeys together towards the Christ versions of ourselves.
Love,
Woo
